To insert a new table
Tables are handy to be able to arrange lists or information in an organised grid.
Login to your Dashboard, under “Dashboard”, click once on “Pages”, then once on any page that you want to insert a table grid.
Above the main editing box, hover over the icons available until you get to “Inserts a new table”. If you dont have this option available, please contact Redback Graphics (Redback Graphics clients only).
After clicking “Inserts a new table” choose the rows, columns and then “Insert”. Place your information within the cells of the table and use the other available “Table” icon to add/remove rows/columns, or edit width, colour etc of any cell/s/row/s etc.
To copy a grid (or table) layout, from one page to another.
Note this applies to normal pages, but does not apply to grid layouts of eCommerce shop/products displays.
Login to your Dashboard, under “Dashboard”, click once on “Pages”, then once on any page with the existing desirable layout you want to copy to another page.
Above the main editing box of the page, top right corner, select the HTML or TEXT tab to view the code for that page (It will be either HTML or TEXT, depending on what version of WordPress you are running).
In the main editing box, select with your cursor, ALL of the content from the first < to the last > within the “table” tags. ie everything and including <table > and all of the content </table>. Copy that to your clipboard (CTRL+C).
Leave that page, no saving required, choose Dashboard/Pages/ and select or create the new page that you want to insert the grid layout.
Above the main editing box of the page, top right corner, select the “HTML” tab to view the code for that page if it isn’t already selected.
Place you cursor in the main editing box and copy from your clipboard (CTRL+V). The code MUST be inserted while in the HTML tab only.
You can then choose the “Visual” tab to see the grid layout on your page preview. Add or remove any images or content to the grid, then click the blue “Publish” button (for a new page) or “Update” for an existing page, to make those changes live.
Tip 1
It’s always handy to have another browser window open to view the “public” side of your website to see the changes without having to log in and out of your Dashboard to see the public website. The changes will be live immediately. Use CTRL+F5 in your live website browser window to force a refresh of the web page you are viewing to see the updated image and link.
